Introduction
Walgreens, an American corporation, operates the second-largest network of pharmacy stores in the United States. The company specializes in prescription dispensing, health and wellness products, offering health-related information.
The Challenge
How to design a user-friendly and efficient language selection system for translating medical prescriptions in a pharmacy dispensing system?
Who are our Users ?
To optimize the pharmacy dispensing system for pharmacists, we conducted user research through observation and workshops. This helped us understand their workflow and interaction patterns with the devices, leading to targeted improvements.

How do they use our system?
Spanish is the most common non-English language spoken in US homes (62%) in 2019, making it the most used language after English in the States.
Given this fact, pharmacists frequently opt for Spanish within the Legacy system's dropdown menu. However, due to the alphabetical arrangement of languages, accessing and selecting Spanish can be cumbersome.

New Designs
This new design features English as the default language, simplifying the selection process for pharmacists. Spanish, being the second most widely spoken language, occupies the second position in the dropdown for enhanced accessibility.

Customer Satisfaction Surge: Implementation of the redesigned dropdown resulted in performance speed, with an observed boost of 85% in users expressing confidence in selecting languages.
Error Rate Reduction: Successfully reduced the error rate by 30%, enhancing overall user experience and system reliability.
